When God makes a promise..He fully intends on keeping it.

"No distrust made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convicnced that God was able to do what he had promised." (Romans 4:20)

This passage talks about Abraham's faith in God's promise that he would be the father of many nations, as well as his offspring. Despite his physical limitations, Abraham had faith beyond what his mind could imagine.

We have to have faith in "Him who is able to do far more abundantly than allthat we ask or thinki according to the power at work WITHIN us, to him be glory..." (Ephesians 3:20)

The thought of Hell.

I am afraid to believe in Hell
I am ashamed
when I see the faces of the unreached
burning
Could this be true,
God, that Hell is as real as Heaven?
Could it be true,
That my selfish faith is allowing them to remain blind?
Your burden is light
Your yoke is easy..
Help me to remember this
otherwise I might die of a broken heart.

My heart can't take this burden
lost souls haunt my mind
god, where is the hope?
You answer
"It is in the Holy Spirit I've given to you"
Be my hands and feet
Speak my words to the weak
Don't be ashamed of the Gospel

Lord, I can't sleep until I give you this heavy heart
I asked to be more like your Son
But, God, sometimes it hurts too much
I taste a hint of the heartache you feel
I'm sorry I'm weak
Thank you for loving me the same
I am undeserving and broken

"Show the world my heart, it is hurting", He asks of us.

In my heart, In my heart...there's a fire burning

Today...was a journey. Somewhere through out the day I ended up at the carwash. Being in that empty place reminded me that even when I am alone, I feel accompanied. It is a beautiful feeling to be loved just for the sake of love. As I was at the carwash the wind was blowing and the flowers from a tree hovering gently over me matched the lavender flowers on my dress and I felt beautiful with a "gentle and quiet" spirit for the first time. It was a simple beauty, no hair products, no makeup and no fashionable style to hide behind. I was bare, and I barely remembered a such thing as "false beauty."

I also made my way over to the park. It was beautiful and so familiar. I walked down old paths and said hello to familar trees. But, new memories with my Love were made to replace the old ones.

My day is ending with the words of a passage from the novel Blue Like Jazz. It talks about how even in marriage, we will never be fully known by another human being. God created the inner most parts of our soul for Him to occupy. This encourages me to never settle for anything less than God.

Such a small word-God- for such an enormous Being

Submission can be a pain in the... you know...
but God, the confirmation you get after submitting is
AMAZING.

My first reaction to God's commands are always negative, it really shows me how fallen I am. Thank God for His grace which lifts us higher than our own expectations of ourselves

the Moon

Today the moon followed me home. He was looking at me through my car window as I was driving down familiar roads. The moon looked at me like the pupil of God's eye. He was tracing the outline of my lips which formed a smile. He whispers to me "I am here". My heart settles because He has overcome it. This God who has pursued me has captured me in a way unimaginable. I am His and He is mine. I am allowed to be weak before Him. I am allowed to fall and cry. I am allowed to love Him desperatly without feeling like a burden. I am allowed to desire His love. I am allowed to cry out to Him and talk to Him forever and ever.

In fact.

He smiles when I do these things.

Who can ask for anything more in a God?

"Show me more. Help me to focus on your Light."

The reality of God

When you ask Him to take you deeper. He takes that request more serious than you ever can imagine. When you ask Him to draw near, you never expect Him to be so clear that you begin to understand the reality of His existence.

God doesn't lie when He says "Draw near to me and I WILL draw near to you."

It comes down to patience and endurance in the times of silence. I asked God to reveal Himself to me. I wanted to know every aspect of His character. He answered me by showing me how serious He is about purity and sin. He showed me how faithful He is to stand by my side. He showed me His tender voice of love. He showed me His boldness and His confidence by giving me the strength to sing a song of pure praise to Him in front of unbelieving college students. He has given me confirmation after confirmation of His existence and love.

Now I want to take all this and soak it in and give it back to His kingdom.

Looking up

As I was looking over the pictures I have been taking these past few days. I noticed that an underlying similarity among all my pictures is the angle. The angle of many pictures is from the ground looking upward towards heaven.

That thought has been stuck in my head all afternoon.

Today I had a day all to myself. It was refreshing and I think I really needed it to refocus. Last week was crazy, to say the least. I started on Monday feeling burnt out, by Wednesday I was talking to people about God's love with boldness, by Saturday I was serving food at the Union Rescue Mission and by night I was trying to love people at a party. And today I am just reflecting on everything that has happened and just realizing that God has to be real because only by His power can I start the week feeling burnt out and ending the week feeling filled. That just goes against everything the world tells us. He was right when He said that He would be faithful to fill me up as I give of myself and serve others.

I am realizing that I need to stop and reflect more often. Otherwise life just seems like work.

"Be still and know that I am God"

We constantly have to remember that He is God. Not us.

I have been doubting my major these past two months. But I feel as if I am on the right track with photocomm. I will stick with it.
