I see the world in black and white

I see the world in black and white.
But Lord, you see the world in color.
so, while I am busy trying to figure out what is right or wrong, with my black and white vision, I am missing the whole point, because you are so much bigger than my imperfect sight.
You are so much bigger than my fears and frustrations.
cause, Lord you know how scared I get when I am not sure if I can hear your voice anymore. But I am listening with my ears, not my heart. I am missing the point.
So my desire, is to listen to you with my heart, with my soul. I want to see life in color, the way that you see it.

Tonight, I had an amazing dinner with my mom. Our conversation took a turn as I started sharing with her some deep struggles and and deep healing I have been going through this season. The moment I started sharing with her, God gave me such a passion to proclaim the Gospel. I literally could not contain myself. I had to tell her that the only one who can heal us is Jesus because He is the only one who has died for our sins. He is the one who bares our scars. His wounds are what heals us. We cried together as we faced the brokenness in our family, the sin that has weighed us down. But I have hope that one day my family will come to know the love of Christ. They will reach their hands our to receive His love and grace. Until then, I wait, and I live a life of witness, because waiting is trusting.

The song "My Glorious" by Delirious is ringing loudly in my mind.

Lyrics-
The world's shaking with the love of God
Great and glorious, let the whole Earth sing
And all you ever do is change the old from new
People we believe that...

(Chorus)
God is bigger than the air I breathe
The world we'll leave
God will save the day and all will say
My glorious!

john 17:14-23

14 cI have given them your word, and dthe world has hated them ebecause they are not of the world, fjust as I am not of the world. 15 I gdo not ask that you htake them out of the world, but that you ikeep them from jthe evil one.1 16 kThey are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17 lSanctify them2 in the truth; myour word is truth. 18 nAs you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. 19 And ofor their sake pI consecrate myself,3 that they also qmay be sanctified4 in truth.

20 “I do not rask for these only, but also for those swho will believe in me through their word, 21 tthat they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that uthey also may be in vus, so that the world wmay believe that you have sent me. 22 xThe glory that you have given me yI have given to them, tthat they may be one even as we are one, 23 zI in them and you in me, athat they may become perfectly one, bso that the world may know that you sent me and cloved them even as dyou loved me.

The Gospel

Recently went to a bible study in my hometown. I had been praying for a better understanding of what my faith is in, the Cross and Jesus Christs' death and resurrection. And guess what the topic is at the study....yup you guessed it. THE GOSPEL.

Here are the notes.

What is the Gospel, why is it good news to us?

The Gospel is Jesus dieing on the cross as punishment for our sins.
It is being at one with God, not because we deserve it,
but because God made a sacrifice that we could never make.
The good part of this news is not just that Jesus died but that
He conquered death and became alive again.
Death no longer has a sting.

What is the difference between the gospel and religion?

Religion makes us wonder if we ever did "enough" good things to get God to love us.
The Gospel says that Jesus finished it on the cross, and that He is enough.
Religion is about getting SOMETHING from God.
The Gospel is about getting GOD.
Religion sees hard times as punishment, the Gospel sees hardship as an opportunity for our faith to be purified.
Religion makes it all about me and my sinful past, the Gospel is all about God's new creation in me.
Religion says that if you obey, then God will love you.
The Gospel says that God loves you and that is why we obey.

Lord, save me from man's religion. Deliver me into the reality of the Gospel.

I have a funny story about Jesus.
Last Friday I was at school eating lunch with some friends and I asked them, "Am I the only one who feels like sometimes they just want to see Jesus right now, in the flesh, face to face?" My friends agreed. No joke, two seconds later, a guy sits down next to me and introduces himself as Jesus Maria and tells me that he was born on midnight of December 24.

Now.....I know that Jesus is humorous and I think he was playing a little joke on me.

I love those moments with God, when He answers your prayers in a playful, humorous way.

quotes

If you aren't enough without it, believe me, you'll never be enough with it.

I love a lonely day,
It chases me to You.- Amy Grant

Two Hands

Jars of Clay-Two Hands
I’ve been living out of sanity
I’ve been splitting hairs and blurring lines
I am a house that is divided
In my heart and in my mind

I use one hand to pull closer
The other to push you away
If I had two hands doing the same thing
Lifted high, lifted high

I have a broken disposition
I’m a liar who thirsts for the truth
And while I ache for faith to hold me

I need to feel the scars and see the proof

And if we just keep digging we can reach the foundation
Of our souls
And if we just keep cutting all the chains from our hearts
We’ll lose control

And it feels like giving in
It feels like starting over
It feels like waking up, and you know it’s coming
It feels like a brand new
