I am reading the book of Jeremiah right now. Jeremiah was a prophet who was sent to the kingdoms of Israel and Judah to plead for them to turn back to their loving father. Both kingdoms were obviously sinning, the difference was that Israel did not try to hide their corruption, they new they were messing up, they just did not care. On the other hand, Judah tried to cover up their sin with false pretences and "religious activities". Which do you think God had mercy on?
Judah looked down on her sister Israel
She was always comparing
"I go to church and pray before my meals" and
"She sleeps with a different guy every season of the year."
She rolled her eyes everytime
Her sister walked into the room
Judah, God wants you to know
that your fake religion is disgusting in his sight.
Your fake Christianity is store bought
and mass produced
You hide your heart of judgement
behind empty words of prayer
"Did you hear what Israel did?? Isn't that just SO sad....?"
What you are really trying to say is, I can't believe she's a whore.
There is a little bit of Judah in all of us. So hear this:
"Faithless Israel is MORE RIGHTEOUS than unfaithful Judah." Jeremiah 3:11
Let's just pray that we are not walking around preaching a false Christianity that draws a line between "us and them". Because really...arn't we all the same jacked up people who need a love greater than ourselves to carry us home to heaven? I am officially challenged by Jesus to be more real. Jesus is the king of zero bs.
